We have tried several different camshaft options for the MZR motor and have decided on a single stage 2 grind that we feel was the best possible compromise between drivability and power. This grind helped our shop car make 823WHP which is the current world record. Many companies will claim that their cams have been street tested and are proven to make HP but they have no data or numbers to back it up. If your going to be running larger cams you need to make sure you have enough piston-to-valve clearance to avoid engine damage.
Below are just some of the cam testing files we have processed in our Engine Analyzer software along with the details of the cams themselves.
We do have a Stage 3 option which was proven to pick up nearly 60WHP with VVT changes alone @ 25psi but unfortunately we never got the chance to finish testing these. We are able to make any grind you would like in addition to our stage 2 option so please contact us if you have something you would like to try. Please contact us for details.
NOTE: If you choose to upgrade your cams you must also upgrade your valve springs to avoid float/coil bind. You must send us your old cams as a core after purchase to be used for this service. You can alternately have us use a set of cams to send out and return us yours after you install the new set. Please contact us for more information.
