The Mazda MZR engine relys on 3 friction washers between the crank pulley and sprockets to help keep the motor in time. This works very well for stock power levels and even mild big turbo setups. Once you reach the 500whp mark, slipping timing can become a problem. This can lead to catestrophic engine failure amounting to thousands of dollars in repairs. We have developed a square keyway which locks the crank pulley and sprockets from slipping on the crankshaft and eliminates the need to replace the friction washers and crank bolt every time it is loosened. You also have the option of having us balance the crank and micropolish the journal surfaces.
